Stemming from our conversation with Kate Rich, PhD candidate in Communication at the University of Washington, here’s how to keep your audience engaged:
The most important thing is making sure they understand you. Speak slowly, enunciate, and really take the time to think about what you’re going to say next.
Nonverbal communication also goes a long way. Engage the audience with facial expressions and gestures. Treat it like you’re having a conversation with your best friend.
